Dr. Praveen Parachuru

Periodontist

Dr. Praveen Parachuru is an experienced periodontist with over 15 years in the field. He earned his Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Minnesota and holds a PhD in Immunology of Periodontal Diseases from the University of Otago, New Zealand.

Specializing in both non-surgical and surgical procedures, Dr. Parachuru offers a comprehensive range of treatments, including scaling and root planing, laser pocket disinfection, LANAP and LAPIP laser gum and implant surgery, gum grafting, guided bone regeneration, dental implant placements (including All on 4 – teeth in a day), sinus grafting, crown lengthening, and the treatment of aggressive and chronic periodontal diseases. He is certified in administering oral and IV sedation, ensuring a calm and relaxing experience for his patients during procedures.

Dr. Parachuru has a strong research background, focusing on the immunopathology of periodontal disease. He has secured multiple research grants and scholarships, published numerous peer-reviewed articles on oral cancer and periodontal diseases, and was a three-time finalist for the prestigious American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Educator Scholarship from 2017 to 2019.

Professionally, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology.

Born and raised in India, Dr. Parachuru relocated to New Zealand in 2008 and then to the United States in 2017. He has practiced and taught periodontics across India, New Zealand, and the U.S. Outside of his professional life, he is a passionate cricket fan, particularly of Team India, and a supporter of New Zealand's All Blacks rugby team. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton, watching Bollywood movies, and hiking with his wife and two daughters, with aspirations of reaching the base camp of Mount Everest.
